Rug Cleaning in Marco Island
Collection and delivery in Marco Island are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Marco Island is built from
A barrier island about twenty miles south of Naples, developed from the 1960s by the Mackle brothers' Deltona Corporation on a grid of dredged canals. Single and two-storey canal houses with dockage, and a line of condominium towers along the beach on Collier Boulevard.
The island's population more than doubles over the winter. A great many of these are second homes, and a great many of the rugs in them are walked on for four months of the year and left alone for the other eight.
The Marco Island problem
Marco is the clearest storm-surge exposure on the route. Ian pushed an eight-foot surge across the island in September 2022, and Irma made landfall here in 2017. Surge is salt water carrying whatever it crossed on the way in, and whether a rug survives it comes down almost entirely to how quickly it is flushed rather than to how bad it looked on the day — and in a second home that clock is running while nobody is on the island. Outside of storms the problem is the ordinary canal-house one: brackish water on three sides, salt in the pile holding damp against the fibre, tile floors that absorb nothing, and a house shut through the whole wet season.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
